How to make Friendship Star Quilt Block- Block#4 of 12- Video Quilt Along
This is Block #4 of a 12- block video quilt along series. Every few weeks I will post a video tutorial on a new quilt block. At the end of the quilt along you will have completed 12 blocks (each measuring 12″ x 12″) and then I will post videos showing you how to sew them together and also how to finish the whole quilt. This block only requires 2 different fabrics and is the perfect block for a beginner to start practicing matching up intersecting points when piecing quilt blocks together. If you would like to follow along but are not confident with your sewing or quilting skills I suggest you watch this video first: www.youtube.com I hope you’ll join us and spread the word! Wooo! I love this!? Thanks for sharing!
I love that your doing this series! Have you heard of Quilts of Valor (Foundation- qovf.org)? I am excited to make a quilt to donate myself, and depending on a few factors, may then attempt a larger project for all the military personnel at my work… The quilt blocks you are? creating so far are great for something that is simple, yet still looks great on a quilt top!
I love all your videos! You are so talented and your tutorials are so easy to follow. I haven’t started my quilt blocks yet, but I plan to real soon now that the holidays are over. Can’t wait for the completed quilt. You? rock!!!! xoxoxo

@50tmack Yes, I have heard of QOV. A local guild I used to belong to made quilts to donate. I’m glad you are enjoying the video quilt along. I love having a bunch of quick & easy to? make blocks especially for charity quilts.
@sandyvan13444 Thank you! I’m glad you enjoy the vids. Remember to share your pics of your completed blocks on our FB? page or you can post me a video response here too if you’d like. Can’t wait to see all these finished quilts!
I don’t have? a sewing machine, and I don’t think I can get one because they’re pretty expensive. Would it be possible to sew together all of these by hand?
I? love stars so I really like this block
@aglanceatmyworld yay!

@RandomnessStudios0 Technically you could sew these by hand but it would take a lot longer and it would take some practice to get them to match up perfectly and the stitches nice and tight. Sewing machines can be very inexpensive and even free!? I would recommend checking craigslist(dot)org and do a search for sewing machines for sale or for free in your area. I have bought several machines for $15 and $20 on craigslist. Also check yard sales and thrift stores. Good luck!
where do you get your fabric?????????
@craftistic77 What fabric? I’m not sure? why that was a response to my comment…did you mean to respond to one of Crafty Gemini’s posts?
this is fun? and easy to make!!!!!
@aglanceatmyworld yes!

Help!
I ironed the top row to the left and the middle row to the right and the bottom row to? the left like the other blocks.
Do I have to take them apart and iron them the way this block was constructed?
Thank you
@cilcy No worries. It doesn’t matter which way you press them as long as each row is pressed in an alternating direction. We just do that to get the points to match up neatly for each block. When we get to the 12th block I’ll show you all another trick for how to fix seams? that don’t match up quickly & easily.

craftistic77:I buy my fabric inexpensive at Fabric.com, Another good? one, going to try it.
